Riot Games has officially announced the new format for the 2026 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) Play-In stage, marking the biggest change in the tournament's history. The four teams in this year's Play-In include: LEC third seed (the team that lost the lower bracket final of the summer split), LCS third seed (the team that did not make the finals), CBLoL runner-up (Brazilian league), and LCP third seed (Asia-Pacific league). Notably, the LCP third seed belongs to MVK Esports, a young team that impressed during the summer split. MVK secured their spot after defeating GAM Esports 3-2 in the lower bracket, before falling 1-3 to CFO in the grand final.
